According to the provisions of the relevant laws of Vietnam and the “Protocol of the General Department of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam on inspection, quarantine and sanitary conditions for exported bird’s nest products from Vietnam to China have an immediate effect if Vietnam’s bird’s nest meets the requirements to be allowed to import the product.
Talking to PV, Minister Le Minh Hoan emphasized: Vietnam’s potential to export bird’s nests to China is huge when this is the largest market for Salanganes nest consumption in the world, accounting for 80% of the global market share.
Vietnam has potential for swiftlet farming with a long coastline, bays and islands favorable for swiftlet development. The quality of Vietnam’s bird’s nest products is considered superior to that of other countries in the region, and Vietnam’s bird’s nest products are very popular with Chinese customers.
“One side has a market, the other has preferential conditions, the Salanganes nest industry is assessed to have great economic value and export potential, so since 2019, bird’s nest has been one of the most focused products by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, negotiated and sent documents to the General Department of Customs of China for official export to China” – Minister Le Minh Hoan said.
